The Importance of Daily Reading

This week has been our first week of homework. Please let me know if your child is taking longer than 20 minutes to complete this. They should be playing outside, resting, and spending time with family to really re-energize for the next day of learning. Learning doesn't just happen in the classroom, it happens in the playground with friends.

Every time my children want to skip reading I think, oh well one day won't harm. Of course, a few days will not harm a child's ability to read, but this image is a reminder of the long-term benefit of daily reading. Keeping a reading log is our own reminder of when students are reading, and when they are skipping.
