Homework

Happy Saturday.

I had interesting conversation with the students this week about homework. I wanted to make sure that they had enough time to finish their homework assignments. Some students wanted more and some wanted less.

I noticed that the students that wanted more had often not completed all of the homework. So it is time for a little reminder of what the homework requirements are:

1. Agendas must be signed every night

2. Check my website for the homework. The message is often too long to write in the student's agenda.

3. Monday is Spelling Workbook (2 pages, don't forget the paragraph!)

4. Tuesday and Wednesday are Math. (often students do not do the Mathletics assignments but these are tied to what we are doing in class and are extremely important for improving a student's skill)

5. Thursday is Spelling City. (many students do not do this). This will improve their spelling ability and the way in which they use the word correctly.

6. Students must read every night for 20 minutes.

- if students finish the Ivan pages and wish to read a different book they should.

7. Students must answer the Ivan homework questions every night and return them on Friday.

If your children still wants more homework then ask them to practice skills on Mathletics. Or go to Raz Kids, read a book and answer the reading comprehension questions. This time is never wasted.

Alternatively, ask them to play outside :)
