This project is aimed at fostering understanding of the roles and contributions of linguistic, cultural, and ethnic groups in Canada aligned with the Alberta Social Studies goal of “Pluralism: Diversity and Cohesion” (Alberta Education, 2005, p. 5).

 

The project comprises of:

Pre-tasks that will be facilitated, if not already completed, are Digital Citizenship online tasks designed to teach students about internet safety (Common Sense, 2018, Digital Citizenship)

1. A book reading and discussion of Stolen Words by Melanie Florence

2. Student-parent interview using Google Forms

3. Google Slides presentation

4. Peer to peer/s project collaboration and editing

5. Oral or pre-recorded video classroom presentation.
