The Student Identity Project is designed for use with elementary students who have received instruction in the use of a personal computer and Google Applications, and are aged between 8 and 16 years. Due to the integration of the Alberta Social Studies Program of Studies, this project can be used throughout elementary education. Using the K-12 Alberta Education ESL Proficiency Benchmarks Tracking Sheets for Grade 1-3 (2011), students assessed to be at level 3 - level 5 in all four areas of communicative competence would be well-aligned with this project due to the language acquisition requirements. The intention is to move from expanding level to bridging/extending. A class of at least 3 students is necessary for the collaborative nature of the project to be realized.
